The cut-off time for the Community Mile is 30 minutes (5:30pm). You will be able to achieve this at a casual walking pace.
Participants must remain on track to meet the applicable cut-off and traffic management deadlines. If you are not on track to complete the race within the required time, Ballarat Marathon may ask you to withdraw from the race.
If you are asked to withdraw, you must comply with the direction of event officials. If you choose to continue after being withdrawn, you do so at your own risk and will no longer be considered an active participant. Event support may no longer be available.
Participants continuing after withdrawal must follow all road rules and directions from traffic controllers and authorities, including using footpaths where required.
-
There is no Drink Station on course, however, after the finish, the Recovery Zone on Armstrong Street South provides water, fruit, medical support and physiotherapy.

Ballarat is a beautiful city and we want to leave it that way.
Road running events can generate significant waste, particularly from cups and gel wrappers. Littering is not part of running. Please don't leave your rubbish on the course.
We provide clearly labelled waste bins at every Drink Station, including dedicated bins for gel packets, as well as additional waste bins around the course.
Do not leave rubbish beside kilometre markers, signs, barriers, poles or other course infrastructure. These are not designated waste areas. If there isn't a bin immediately beside you, carry your rubbish until you reach one.
The containers used to provide water and electrolytes and for warm clothing collection are not waste bins. Please do not throw rubbish in them. Take a moment to check you’re using the right bin.
Our waste management partner, CL Sustainability, sorts all event waste by hand so that materials can be recovered and diverted from landfill wherever possible.
Help our volunteers, our crew and our suppliers by putting your rubbish in the bin.
Take responsibility for your waste. Use the bins provided. Help us keep Ballarat clean.
