The Elite Mile races are going next-level in Ballarat in 2027. Introducing the Golden Mile, incorporating the Australian Road Mile Championships, to be held under lights on a new two-lap course in central Ballarat - a city built by gold. Twice the excitement for the athletes and twice the excitement for the thousands of people who will line Sturt St to watch. A party atmosphere is guaranteed!
Who can run in the Golden Mile (the Australian Road Mile Championships)?
We are encouraging national-standard and state-standard runners and fast club runners to take part in the Golden Mile, which double as the Australian Road Mile Championships. Runners need to request an entry code from our Competition Manager, by emailing competition@ballaratmarathon.com.au. Runners will asked to submit evidence of a qualifying time.
QUALIFYING TIME OVER MILE DISTANCE
Men: Have posted a time of 4:25 or faster
Women: 5:10 or faster
16 & Under Boys: 5:10 or faster
16 & Under Girls: 5:30 or faster
QUALIFYING TIME OVER 1500m DISTANCE
Men: Have posted a time of 3:55 or faster
Women: 4:40 or faster
16 & Under Boys: 4:40 or faster
16 & Under Girls: 5:10 or faster
Men’s & Women’s 2027 Prize Money:
First: $2000
Second: $1000
Third: $500
Fourth: $250
Fifth: $125
